‘The efficiency and cost pressures for manufacturers of injection and diagnostics systems, contact lenses, or plastic assemblies for medical devices are immense. They therefore need assembly systems that enable different products to be assembled and tested with complete process reliability and in the shortest cycle times. We are sensing this need from our customers more now than ever before’, reports Frank Hack, who represents the medtech division at teamtechnik as Managing Director.
Strong growth
The German Freiberg-based system builder specializes in exactly this area and its complete solution offerings are meeting the requirements of the industry. New customers, plus an average annual growth in turnover for medtech in the two digit range, speak for themselves. For 2020 the company is anticipating a turnover of €50 million in this segment.
Recipe for success: everything from one source
Today teamtechnik offers a modular, standardized machine and software concept. All components, assembly and testing equipment, feeder systems, palletizing systems, software and qualification come from teamtechnik itself and are 100% compatible with each other.
‘Customers receive an all-round, worry-free package with perfectly implemented interfaces configured for their exact requirements’, explains Hack. The system builder focuses on turnkey systems and high-volume production for complex medical products. ‘Using standardized system platforms as the basis, we can provide the right production system for any level of automation. This includes 100% end-of-line testing’, says Frank Hack. He adds: ‘Here teamtechnik offers a huge range of circular and linear cycling platforms.’
New process developments are implemented as proof of principle on, for example, the TEAMED PoP platform.
System builder and software specialist
All teamtechnik control, production management and testing software is developed in-house. A team of experts has created these software solutions specifically for the automation of assembly and testing tasks and has implemented them in over 250 systems. The standardized ‘teamsoft’ software family supports secure processes and a high level of system availability. It also provides secure data access and ensures complete traceability of production data. The testing software collects test data, for example, and derives reliable quality evaluations from it.
The right feeders for optimum cycle performance
In house-developed feeder systems ensure that potential cycle performance of the systems is exploited in full. Frank Hack: ‘By combining a teamtechnik system with our own high-performance feeder systems, even the most demanding assembly and testing tasks can be achieved with full process reliability in a short time. Systems with outputs of over 480 parts per minute are not uncommon for us.’
