The technician performs a wide variety of technical functions in the electrical and mechanical assembly field for custom automated equipment. 
Primarily in building, setup, and commissioning custom build automated equipment, support acceptance runs, production support, optimization, documentation of changes, and training of customer personnel during the handover phase. 
Technician reports to the Manufacturing Manager of teamtechnik Corporation
Job duties include editing (redlining) technical documents during project execution.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES

  • Building custom-built machinery according to mechanical drawings.
  • Installing and plumping hydraulic and pneumatic components according to hydraulic and pneumatic drawings for custom automated industry.
  • Ensure all adjustments are done properly and according to function and mechanical prints (e.g. sensors, cylinder strokes, belt tension, pressure settings, flow controls, alignment, pre-load, etc.)
  • Making minor mechanical modifications to parts to ensure proper fit using power drills, mills lathes, etc.
  • Ability to use measurement tools (e.g. calipers, depth gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, machine levels, etc.) and understand measurements within 0.02mm (1/1000th of an inch)
  • Wire custom-built machinery according to device layout and electrical schematics
  • Wiring of custom control panels according to device layouts and electrical prints
  • Perform I/O checks on custom-built automation equipment
  • Perform electrical and machine safety checks on custom-built automation equipment
  • Correcting/updating (redlining) of technical documentation like electrical schematics and bills of material.
  • Technical supervision of a team of mechanical and electrical technicians
  • Troubleshooting errors and malfunctions on custom-built automation equipment
  • Overtime is mandatory from time to time.
  • 30% domestic and international travel required.

EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years in the automation industry
  • Trade school degree as a mechatronic technician or similar
  • Ability to work together in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate with engineering, project management and customers
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office), good computer skills a definitive plus
  • PLC knowledge is a definitive plus
