SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTY AND DUTIES

The Technician performs a wide variety of technical functions in the electrical and mechanical service field. Primarily in setup, commissioning, service, and repairs of custom-build automation equipment, support acceptance runs, production support, optimization, documentation of changes, and training of customer personnel during the handover phase.
The technician reports to the Manufacturing Manager of teamtechnik Corporation.

  • Travel to customers in NAFTA and sometimes globally to perform Installation of new equipment, set up and commissioning support help with Retrofits/upgrades/ repairs/ production support.
  • Travel to the the teamtechnik headquarters in Freiberg, Germany for Assembly of production lines, set up and commissioning support and Training.
  • Perform basic commissioning, electrical safety and I/O checks, troubleshoots and malfunctions on the custom build automation equipment.
  • Support programmers during setup and commissioning process, acceptance test (FAT and SAT) runs.
  • Provide production support on machines and production lines at customer sites, and provide training to operators and maintenance personnel as and when required. Should be able to use measurement tools(e.g. calipers, depth gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, machine levels, etc.)
  • Ensure all adjustments are done properly and according to function and mechanical prints (e.g. sensors, cylinder strokes, belt tension, pressure settings, flow controls, etc.)
  • Build custom custom-made machinery according to mechanical and electrical drawings and should know installing and plumping hydraulic and pneumatic components according to hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
  • Build custom control panels according to device layout and electrical prints. Wire custom built machinery can make minor mechanical modifications to parts to ensure proper fit using power drills, mills, lathes, etc.
  • Provide editing of technical documents with approval of the document owner and version control- for wiring diagrams, mechanical prints, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, bill of materials, documentation and manuals, work instructions and SOP's.
  • Stay within preset budgeted hours to ensure the project stays within budget and complies with company policies. (employee handbook). Maintain department goals in keeping with company objectives. Travel up to 50% is required and overtime may also be required as per the needs of projects.

 

EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of service experience in the automation industry
  • Trade school degree as a mechatronic technician or similar
  • Ability to work together in a team environment and communicate with engineering, project management and customers.
  • A valid driver license is required.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office), good computer skills a definitive plus .
  • PLC knowledge is a definitive plus.
